Sleep gives the body an opportunity to recover and be healthy again after a day of activity, it makes sleep very important for our health.

Although not harmful, Twitch can be quite annoying and make you afraid.
But to prevent this, it is advisable to add hours of sleep and avoid things that can cause twitches like drinking too much alco**holic beverages.
Then, how is the explanation for Twitching in sleeping?
When sleeping, you become more restful and enter into the sleep phase of the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) which usually occurs about 45-60 minutes after a close eye, your muscles become paralyzed. But if you are very tired, stressed out, or whatever makes sleeping irregular, it makes you enter the REM phase faster than usual.
Professor Gaby Badre, a sleep expert at The London Clinic explains that you will still enter into a dreamy nature, but because the muscles are not entirely relaxed, the eyes can experience strange twitch like when you wake up.

Twitch or in a medical called fasciculation is a condition when there is a contraction, occurring in the muscles without adjustable. This twitch can be caused by several conditions such as:
- Fatigue in muscles, eg. after exercise, lack of rest, stress
- Vitamin deficiency
- Side effects of the drug, especially drugs used to treat psychosis and epilepsy.
- Neurological disorders.

Reasons Babies Often Twitching in Sleeping
When sleeping, babies often seem to move muscles with twitching. A researcher from the University of Iowa, USA, Professor Mark Blumberg reveals that this happened because they practiced to move their muscles and limbs.
In a paper published in Current Biology, Blumberg argues that movements, known as ‘myoclonic twitching”, play a key role in the development of the nervous system.
During the study, the Professor analyzed the movement of twitching in sleeping rat in a video recording. When he slowed the video, he found a randomized movement that had a pattern. This movement of limbs is often repeated, from left to right or vice versa.
Blumberg said this repetition behavior trains the motor system of the brain to learn how to build more complex body movements.
