The “wellness” term was first used by a doctor in the United States, Halbert L. Dunn. In 1961, he published a booklet, “High Level Wellness”.
Wellness definition is an active process by which people become aware and make choices to achieve a more successful existence. (National Institute of Wellness in Wisconsin). It supports a positive and optimistic outlook, and a holistic and balanced approach to life.
“Wellness” can also be interpreted as an act of practicing healthy habits to get better physical and mental health outcomes. You can start by doing simple things like exercising every day, eating healthy foods, getting enough sleep and most importantly loving yourself.
Dimensions of wellness
There are various kinds of models that describe what aspects fall into the wellness category.
Here are the dimensions of wellness that you can learn to achieve a healthy, happy and abundant life. It does not have to be in a balanced portion, but you must be able to aim for the wellness dimension that is most in accordance with the self-belief because naturally each dimension has different priorities, approaches, aspirations, and points of view.
In achieving occupational wellness, one way you can do this is like choosing a career that is in line with interests and values that you personally believe in rather than choosing a career that does not reward you in various ways. You can also achieve this by actively developing and honing the skills you have.

Let’s get rid of the habit of silence and be productive. It would be better if we as humans challenge ourselves to continue to increase knowledge and hone the skills that are already owned. It is better than us being complacent about what we already have. Intellectual wellness is also concerned with how you identify problems and choose the best path as a solution.
Understanding and appreciating feelings, values and attributes of the self belongs to the emotional dimension. This includes appreciating the feelings of others, managing self-emotions constructively and feeling positive and enthusiastic about living alone. Not bothering with other people’s lives is one way to maintain wellness within the scope of the emotional dimension.
Improving wellness in the spiritual dimension means that you can find the purpose, value and meaning of living with or without religion. Being able to participate in activities consistent with the beliefs and values held so far is one of the things that are in the scope of the spiritual dimension.
Developing yourself within the scope of the financial dimension means that you can manage your livelihood resources, make financial and investment decisions, set realistic goals and prepare emergency funds for the short and long term. Recognize that the values, needs, and financial situation of each individual are unique.
Understand that social, natural, and community environments have an impact on health and self-well-being, including being aware of the dynamics of natural changes and their impact on routine habits in the physical environment. You are among the people who can reach this dimension of the environment when you can show commitment to a healthy Earth planet.
